Netflix Queue: Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead

After power-watching the entire first season of Call the Midwife in a few days, I found myself without anything to watch on a lazy Sunday evening. I started surfing around Netflix and this time came across Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. The movie is about an Aussie guy, Joe, who starts a 60-day juice fast after becoming fed up with weight and health issues. I clicked on it thinking the movie was about eating healthy to fix health ails, but there was little eating going on! I was amazed that Joe could healthily survive for 60 days with just fruit and veggie juices. The physical transformation, from the weight loss to the glowing skin, is unbelievable. However, somehow this very extreme undertaking seems really sane and healthy. I love buying fresh-pressed juices and may be inspired to buy a juicer and do it at home. I’m not up for 60 days without chewable food, but more fruits and veggies in the form of juice would be great. If I’m living in San Francisco with all the amazing produce, I should celebrate it, huh? Take a watch if you’re interested in a thought-provoking look at how we eat and an unconventional way to heal yourself.
